About Us
As a club, we were established and continue to exist to provide opportunities for runners of all abilities to enjoy and develop their running in an environment that is friendly, sociable and mutually supportive.
Our base is the ‘Hutch’, situated directly opposite the outdoor pool by the Lake Grounds.
We run a variety of group runs each week and all of the sessions are hosted by the Club’s own App and led by our dedicated run leaders.
Happy Mondays - a gentler pace and shorter run in 2 different paced groups. Attended by lots of our more recent C25k graduates with routes around the marina and nearby, the group is very popular across the whole club.
Tuesday evenings - Club runs for runners of all abilities across 3 groups running flat and hilly routes on alternate weeks. NEW intervals and shorter sessions being trialled.
Ladies Only - Wednesdays run where we meet outside Parish Wharf Leisure Centre at 7 pm and have a beginner and intermediate group.
Intervals - Thursday evenings for runners of all abilities to help develop their running.
Parkrun - most Saturdays - a group of Portishead runners will be at some parkrun or other. Our local parkrun is Clevedon Salthouse Fields and wherever the run is we tend to find coffee shops afterwards.

Portishead Running Club’s Black Nore 10km saw a record 267 participants complete our beautiful multi-terrain course in 2024.

📍Race HQ Portishead Open Air Pool 📍
A fun, multi terrain event with a mix of grass, mud, rocks and tarmac. It is suitable for runners of all abilities although care will be required as parts of the course are uneven and some areas may be slippery.
NEW in 2024 was the Family Fun Run which took place before the main race along the Esplanade and was be free to enter on the day.
